Stories where the divine quietly returns.

In the early Church, Mary Magdalene was known by the title Apostola Apostolorum—the Apostle to the Apostles. She was the one commissioned by the Divine to preach the Gospel to the men who would later be called the "pillars" of the Church. But she was not the only one. Magdalene was walking a path blazed by Jesus' mother, Mary, the quintessential Apostle.

When I painted my icon of Mary, the Mother of God, I chose to depict her not as a passive, silent figure, but as a Primordial Priestess. Look at the ancient ecclesial art—the mosaics where she wears the pallium, the priestly stole. Look at the scriptures where she is the "exalted human" who precedes even the Apostles in her understanding of Christ’s mission. Mary was the mother of God but she never claimed divinity for herself. She was human. Yet, in the icon I painted, she is the depicted as a recapitulation of the primordial goddess tradition...

From March to November 2024, I wrote a series of booklets (essentially several chapters of a future book) titled The Return of the Goddess. This was not a repudiation of traditional core Christian beliefs but rather a study of how the themes of several thousand years worth of religious thought were recapitulated in Christianity.

To my understanding, it makes sense that the persons of Jesus and Mary would have antecedents--not only in ancient Jewish scripture and prophecy but among the so-called pagan religions as well.

I had released this series of chapters via Amazon Kindle self-publishing. In mid-2025, I temporarily removed the books from availability as I am seeking to further edit these writings prior to re-releasing them. This project has been delayed but not forgotten. 😉

My Journey

For years, I have woven ancient symbols into paintings and essays, tracing sacred themes through time.

Each piece invites you into a timeless dialogue.
